Cellular Agriculture expands into new R&D base, eyes Q1 2026 pilot-scale launch

Cellular Agriculture has relocated to a purpose-built research and development facility at Corsham Science Park, Wiltshire, marking a significant expansion of its capabilities as it prepares to scale cultivated food technologies.


The new approximately 20,000-square-feet site features a dedicated pilot hall and nine specialised laboratories, creating what the company describes as “one of the most advanced environments globally” for novel cell culture technology development.


Vipul Jain, interim head of commercial at Cellular Agriculture, said: “This facility represents more than just scale, it represents capability, ambition, and readiness. It positions us to accelerate innovation and execution as we move from bench scale to pilot scale and beyond."


Alongside the R&D investment, the company has begun constructing a dedicated pilot-scale facility to bridge the gap between laboratory breakthroughs and industrial production. Designed with quality control systems, online monitoring, advanced automation, an optimised seed train, CIP/SIP systems and in-situ harvesting, the site will serve as a proving ground for scaling cultivated food technologies.


The pilot facility is scheduled to begin operations in Q1 2026 and is aimed at de-risking scale-up for both the company and its partners.
