Aleph Farms joins PETA’s ‘Eat Without Experiments’ programme

Israel-based cultivated meat company Aleph Farms has signed on to PETA’s new 'Eat Without Experiments' initiative, earning praise from the animal rights group for its commitment to avoiding animal testing.
The programme highlights food and beverage companies that pledge not to test on animals unless required by law. Aleph Farms, which has its US headquarters in New York, joins a list of signatories that includes Ferrero International, Bacardi, Amy’s Kitchen, Heineken and Unilever.
“Aleph Farm’s statement of assurance will give it a leg up with caring consumers who want to support transparent, eco-and-animal-friendly businesses,” said PETA's vice president, Shalin Gala.
Research cited by PETA suggests growing consumer demand for transparency, with 74% of surveyed consumers saying they want companies to disclose their stance on issues such as animal testing.
The Eat Without Experiments database allows shoppers to see which brands have taken PETA’s pledge, aiming to appeal to a rising segment of ethics-conscious consumers.
